Climate Initiative

Ryakasinga Centre for Higher Education

To protect the school legacy and fight climate change, the students of Ryakasinga CHE embarked on a major environmental journey. This action-oriented adventure has grown into one of the region's greatest memorial initiatives to promote local climate action.

In 2025, the student leadership of the RCHE Environmental Club and RCHE Online TV visited the Nyakabwera Carbon Credit Project. They received a lecture on climate action from Denis Tukahikaho PhD, an International Carbon Credit Expert and project investor. The field discussion triggered the launch of the first-ever Students Climate Action Challenge and Innovation Awards, alongside the birth of the Mother Earth Guardian Schools Movement (MEGSM).
